Advent is widely known as a season for remembering Jesus’ birth. The word advent means coming. We first met God as Immanuel, God with us, as an infant. Yet in remembering Christ’s entrance into the world, we also prepare our hearts expectantly for his return. We anticipate the time when he will finally establish God’s everlasting kingdom. This Advent, we are exploring the Parable of The Prodigal Son. In this Parable, we discover more fully who Jesus is and we also learn how we are to prepare our hearts to celebrate his coming.
