About This Series
A 3 week sermon series beginning July 14 and ending on July 28, 2019Jesus teaches us to pray, “God, may your kingdom come.” We pray this prayer. And we wait. We see evidence of the kingdom of God in our midst. But we also live in the middle of a world chasing after the kingdoms of this age. We witness all kinds of injustice, deep suffering, and lives falling apart. Sometimes God seems distant and praying “your kingdom come” feels empty. How do we live in this space? Habakkuk was a prophet who lived in a time of faithlessness and fear. The book of Habakkuk captures his conversation with God during dark days. Yet despite his grounds for despair, Habakkuk finds solid ground to stand on while praying, “your kingdom come.” We can take our stand with him too.
