This summer we are coming to the end of our multi-year journey through the Gospel of Luke.

There are so many critical issues at the forefront of our minds in this moment: racial injustice, political polarization, economic turmoil, and an overdose crisis to name a few. The gospel of Luke is not an escape from these weighty matters. Rather, it is an invitation to follow in the footsteps of Jesus and to align ourselves with the kingdom of God. Now, as always, we need the Spirit to empower a kingdom imagination in us, as we follow Jesus into a world crying out for renewal. The gospel of Luke will be our guide through injustice, polarization, disease, suffering, and alternative stories of renewal. Because only the story of Jesus can make sense of the world around us and ground us in the resilience of hope.
