When Jesus speaks, the world changes: the waves calm, disease disappears, evil retreats, and death dies. When Jesus speaks: the paralyzed leap, the blind see, sinners are forgiven, and lives are restored. But what happens when Jesus speaks about himself?

In this series we will look at eight times Jesus spoke about himself in the gospel of John. Jesus tells us he is the bread of life, the light of the world, the door, the good shepherd, the resurrection and life, the way and truth, the true vine, and the great I AM. When Jesus speaks about himself, the world still changes: God is made known, everything is turned right-side up, our deepest desires are stirred, and our hearts find their rest in him.

Because when Jesus speaks, everything changes.
